- Ambitious young people should make non-profits with the intention to die or leave in a couple of years
- Education startups have no education impact compared to regular tech/startups
- Sometimes the main bottleneck is being smart. Overanalyzing, overplanning, etc is the bane of smart people, while workaday people are the ones who do things.
- People with resting bitch faces are usually default mean person
- not to say they arenāt ever nice
- I donāt get the hate on plastic surgery. Same as a haircut IMO, and it removes ābase statsā. Makes even less sense when people hate on plastic surgery but support gene editing en masse.
What are some things in your life that you believe in that others donāt as much? Not everybody has to be ambitious.
Iām lucky enough to have found an encouraging community that often prioritizes the instillation of ambition of everyone around them. For me, this is inspiringābut I think it loses the meaning of ambition in the process, because in some ways it is a curse.
True ambition transcends comparison on a local scale. It is not ambitious (although commendable) to be the first in your family to go to college. The goals must be grandiose.
With true ambition comes struggle, sacrifice, and a commitment to change the world. It is insanely easy to befriend depression in oneās journey. Consequently their devotion often seems either manic or noble, all in pursuit of bettering the world.
In this way, I think of ambitious people as dishwashers. We wash the dishes so that humanity can continue to cook, to eat, to do the unique things that make us human. If everyone was ambitious, then who are we washing the dishes for? Who will stop to smell the flowers?
