Iām vegetarian. I donāt think about it much, but it really is a core principle of my life. One that is neither convenient nor logical, which goes against my normal way of doing things.
My best answer for why is that I was born this way. I grew up in a religious Jain family that never ate meat, and so I simply never ate meatāit wasnāt too difficult.
Later on the idea of eating meat became almost revolting to me. I still struggle to eat eggs to this day (although I began eating them on and off when I was ~13 to have some protein intake).
Nowadays, itās definitely harder to live a vegetarian life (although the rise of veganism is making it easier). The most difficult period was when I was living in Japan. Almost all food their contained some sort of fish oil, but I found a safe haven in the nearby Nepalese place every day for their lunch special.
